    Default open_basedir restriction in effect

    Hi,
My site: http://member.mosmanrowing.com/ is plagued with these open_basedir restirctions.

Click on any item and in the description you get this: Warning: is_dir(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File(images/..) is not within the allowed path(s): (/var/virtual/web/w1542/subdomain/member/:/tmp:/usr/lib/php) in /var/virtual/web/w1542/subdomain/member/includes/modules/additional_images.php on line 43

As well as similar ones in various places throughout the site.

    Help...?

It generally means that your provider is using the open_basedir method, for security reasons, in their PHP setup and that your script is trying to access something outside the your allowed web space. You should probably contact your hosting provider.

They told me to ask for a work around and that the program should look outsite its directory.

How do I change where it wants to look?

    Cheers,
    Luke

Normally when a host runs PHP in Safe Mode they don't impose such severe restrictions as your host appears to be doing, and you can continue to run your site. However, they do appear to be making it impossible for you.

There's one other thing worth checking out - and that is that your configure.php files are set up correctly, because if there is anything wrong with them and PHP is in Safe Mode then you'll get errors all over your site.
