can't send and any email after update from 1.27 to v1.35

hi,

i can't send any email from site after update from v1.27 to v1.35.

it work well when run v1.27, v1.35 of the seting is same as before of 1.27, but can't send email.

don't know what is wrong.

Yeah, same here... can't seem to get SMTP to do anything at all. Settings similar to above... mail server doesn't require AUTH, but doesn't work in either configuration. Windows server.

I have spent so much time reading the same problem that i am getting.
This Contact Us and Email Notifications or Sending Emails to customers really give me so much trouble. Even I followed so many instructions, do this and that, trial and error everything I still can't solve my problem.

Please have a look what I did with my Contact Us link which is one of most important to the site....

I had some trouble with email not being sent and found a statement in includes/functions/functions_email.php not set correctly for use with 1.3.5.

Check if this line is there (including '_SERVER'):

if (EMAIL_SMTPAUTH_MAIL_SERVER_PORT != '25' && EMAIL_SMTPAUTH_MAIL_SERVER_PORT != '') $mail->Port = EMAIL_SMTPAUTH_MAIL_SERVER_PORT;

Did the trick for me.

A handful of fixes were made to the includes/functions/functions_email.php file in v1.3.6 which should help deal with this issue.


Also remember, (not related to OP's note, but is relevant to others commenting) ... most ISP's block port 25 for outgoing mail unless it's bound for the ISP's mailserver. You may have to use an alternate port number to reach your website mailserver if you're trying to test using a local Windows PC from home.
