Default Sales Tax on Every Order

    Greetings,
My cart is charging TAX on every order placed. I have gone through the FAQ and I believe I have everything setup correctly. I was wondering if someone could point me the right direction?

My Store > Zone > California

Location / Taxes > Zone Definitions > California
Location / Taxes > Tax Classes > Taxable Goods
Location / Taxes > Tax Rates > Taxable Goods, California, 7.24%

Products are set to "Taxable Goods".

    I hope this helps...

    Go back to this one:
Location / Taxes > Zone Definitions > California

And click on "California" again to drill-down inside it. Make sure you've added "United States" and "California" to it via the pulldowns.

Make sure that the details are specific to Texas and not All of the United States ... or have not been forgotten ...

    Default Sales Tax

    Hi,

I have a customer who needs to add sales tax now - to every item in the cart. At this point - somewhat after things have been established. Right now the only way to do this i have found is through the control panel - product by product - drag that selection and then save the changes to that record in the database.

What I am looking for is the field that gets changed when that happens...at this point, i am not sure which one it is.

    table: products --- field ????

Any help would be appreciated. If I can track down this , i can do some nice behind the scenes changes through a rapid import in phpmyadmin. save the customer some hassle - save me from pulling out my hair due to changing this on 900 plus items.

Set one Product up for taxes then check the phpMyAdmin and your products table for the field products_tax_class_id

More likely than not, this needs to be set to 1 to turn on the taxes for Taxable Goods ...

red flag Re: Sales Tax on Every Order

    Hi Ajeh,

I also want to add tax to all my products but I am not willing to go through the long list to edit them one by one. You said "Set one Product up for taxes then check the phpMyAdmin and your products table for the field products_tax_class_id. More likely than not, this needs to be set to 1 to turn on the taxes for Taxable Goods ...". I went to phpmyadmin and could only find the field tax_class. What did I miss? Do you know if there is an easier way to add tax to all products? Please help. Thank you.
