Different National and International Shipping & FREE SHIPPING

I need to setup different shipping charges for National and International orders.
I've read the other threads posted but each person was doing shipping a different way or maybe I just didn't understand.

I just need someone to help me brainstorm the best way to set this up using Zen Cart.

National Shipping:
$2.39 per item
Free shipping for Orders over $59

International
$5.00 per item
Free shipping for Orders over $119

You would need to customize or clone the Module ... Order Totals ... Shipping ot_shipping.php to handle the differences for two Free Shipping settings based on different zones ...

Then clone the Item Shipping and make one for one Zone and one for another Zone ... to handle your regular shipping ...

many many thanks. I was able to create two different per item shipping modules for national and international.

Now I'm off to figure out how to clone the Free shipping module.

Once I'm done I'll post these files up in the downloads section for others to use :)

I have cloned /includes/modules/orderTotals/ot_shipping.php

But what text should I be replacing?
ot_shipping or ORDER_TOTAL_SHIPPING


I am guessing that I also need to clone and change the language file.

the free shipping option module offers 3 radio buttons to select from.

1. National
2. International
3. Both

Since I am creating 2 separate files to manage free shipping separate for national and international, I would like to disable these options.

for ot_shipping_national.php I want the default option to be National
for ot_shipping_international.php I want the default option to be International.

I'm not a php coder so I have no idea how to modify the code.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

I made a copy of ot_shipping.php, what should I change in the duplicate file to successfully create a separate free option for international orders?

ok. i just made some changes and installed the module successfully.
not im off to test it and i hope it works.

below are the changes i made. i kinda guessed what i had to change so it is highly likely that i changed the wrong stuff. if anyone with experience could take a look and tell me if i changed the right stuff, that would be great.

files duplicated and modified:
includes/modules/order_total/ot_shipping.php
includes/languages/english/modules/order_total/ot_shipping.php

changes made:

ORDER_TOTAL_SHIPPING changed to ORDER_TOTAL_SHIPPING_INTERNATIONAL
FREE_SHIPPING changed to FREE_SHIPPING_INTERNATIONAL
ot_shipping changed to ot_shipping_international
