    Making the configure.php read only?

I've just installed Zen cart on my website.. I have not been able to find out how to make the "configure.php" read only.

How do you make a .php file read only on a web site?

    I'm stumped...

How did you upload everything, FTP?

Through the FTP, find that actual file and set the properties/CHMOD/permissions(right click or however yours works) to 444. Works fine for me and keeps the baddies out.

I'm not familiar with that one.

However, I'm sure you can also change the permissions in your host's control panel.

I'm using Godaddy.com as a web service provider.. and I've gone to the control panel and ftp client and can't find anything to change the setting of that file to read only..

I'm unfamiliar with that host's control panel as well.

Hmmm... maybe best if you download FileZilla and use it to adjust your permissions, might be easier and it's best to protect those files sooner than later.

I don't know GD's control panel, but in many control panels, there will be some 'file manager' thing which can be used to set permissions

    HTH :)
