cannot send session - php spaces problem (I think)

Hi,

Similar to some other threads on the forum i am getting Cannot send session cookie - headers already sent by (output ...etc. etc.

According to some answers its spaces at the start/end of the offending .php files causing the problem.

I can find the spaces in the files, but i CANNOT get them to be rid of the space.

I tried editing the file with flashfxp and resending it - space comes back.

I tried downloading it, editing in wordpad etc closing the file, reopening it space is gone - re-upload it - the space is BACK!

The only thing i got working properly is to rename the file with a .txt extension upload it and rename it there - THAT kills the space.

Any ideas on how to upload without getting the space inserted?

its mystifying as i am using the same programs and host I used previously to get a successful shop up and running a few months ago. I just tried to send a .php file there as well and yup...space in there....

Follow up... Used my Mac to upload and all is now well - still doesn't answer the question tho...

if there are one or two occasionally, there is no problem. Several generally means a space or extra line after the ending ?>
