Wow, I have spent so long lurking I actually tried helping!

I do my own hosting so not sure if you have access to the hosting set up or not but that is where you define ftp info etc. There is a choice: Use a single directory for housing SSL and non-SSL content.

    Hope this helps.

darn..was afraid of that. in 7 the setup page only gives you a checkbox to activate ssl support, but none for using one directory for both...doh!

i called my provider to ask them - they're supposed to be sending me a guide to activating php in that https directory...

Your hosts could make that change to the server configuration and make everyone's life a lot easier.

Why would they want you to have to duplicate all folders/files? Answer = you run out of webspace quicker and need to upgrade sooner.

ok - it's been resolved (yaay!). in a nutshell, one of the admins had to reconfigure apache to use the same directory for both http and https - in the httpd.include file. it required a simple restart after that and voila.

thanks all! i'm sure i'll be back with more later...

Just makes you wonder why it wasn't done in the first place.

    Hi Mxmerch:

I have similar issue as yours. Is your "admin" or "checkout" page works now. I have gone to your site, and saw the https on the login page. If that's working, could you share some insight on how you did this.

    Many Thanks
