Uploading Files

I was wondering, what is the best way of uploading numerous files on a server? Atm I'm trying to work out how to upload an offline zen cart to an online server, i've transferred the database I thnk all I need to do now is transfer the files...

When I try to drop and drag the files throug an ftp program it times out because it is too slow. I've also zipped up all the files, transferred it over ready for unzipping into that directory on the server...how do I do this? Is there a better way of transferring files?

Try FileZilla it is a free easy to use ftp client.
