Searching Attributes

Hi Newbie here,

I've hit a bit of a brick wall with zen-cart which i was hoping that maybe someone here could shed some light on.

I have a store with products created via attributes ie:

Product catagory: Metal cut off wheels
Product: Metal cut off wheel - which then has various sizes listed in an attributes drop down box ie. 100 x 1 x 16 and 125 x 2.5 x 22 etc.

When I do a site search for a particular product eg. metal cut off wheel 125 (in size) it doesn't return any items.

Is there any way to do this or is it a matter of changing the products to be individual products not a product with attributes.

I am wondering the same thing. Does anyone know of a way to have the search include information contained in the attributes?

Searching Attributes can be very difficult as they don't "mean anything" they are text, and need to be precise on what will work ...

Trying to search the tables to produce an attributes search is even more complex as the text exists in one location and the ids in another ...

Based on the nature of the beast you may wish to post something in the Commercial Help wanted as this is not going to be something that can just be whipped up over lunch ...
