Can I do this with Zen Cart

I want to create a catalogue style ordering system and im a complete novice.

1st - the site will show products set out in differant catagories but with no prices and without the ability to order. With a customer login (no registration) option.

2nd - If a customer has a valid login (this will be provided to them by the site administrator), it will let them view products but now with prices and they will have the ability to add to an order. Upon Checkout - no payment is required, and a copy of the order is then sent to a specified email address, together with customer details, ready for processing and invoiceing.


Can all this be done with Zen Cart

Yes, Yes, and Yes...

It kinda obviates the advantages of having an onlie web store but this payment scheme is your choice.

Account approval can be set in the admin as can the store mode

admin > config > customer details > Customer Approval Status - Authorization Pending > set to "2" May browse but no prices unless Authorized

admin > config > customer details > Customer Shop Status - View Shop and Prices > setting "2" May browse but no prices unless logged in

These should get it but there are other settings that you may want
