It still brings in the problem of what happens when you change currency.. But we can work on that

well I think that there should be the option to set it individually per product, otherwise it looses it's punch as a marketing tool. It isn't much more work to add this now, and makes more sense than bolting it on later.

Make it work with any item first, leave the option for individual item later.
As for the currency, there is a way: always change the price back to the default currency before calculating the credit point.

And how about redeeming the points??? Should it be a straight "points for cash" swap or should each product have a point value that can be redeemed against??? (like www.thebookpeople.com)

I started with the file from os and works on the german languages. But i can´t change the codes.

Who is working on this??

I might be throwing a monkey wrench into this but I can see where in the long term this could be a big selling point.

Here in the states many retailers use a flat point per $ ratio of 1:1. However sometimes they will offer sales incentives on categories of items. Example among office supply retailers is that they will offer 10% rewards back on all sales but in next weeks sales flyer they might offer double rewards ir 20% rewards back on paper and toners.

Once the core of this is functioning I can see where having the flexability to assign products or categories of items to a bonus rewards promotion through salemaker (or something similar) would be a good merchandising tactic.

I have a alpha up and running which I'm adding ideas to. I should have something that people can have a look at in the next couple of days (I'm working on a local server right now- I'll need to transfer the site to my website).

Once I've done this I will start a new topic so that everyone can offer suggestions, improvements etc.
