Please help? zen card minus the CART!

What have I done?
I have been setting up a Zen cart web site but there doesn’t seem to be a cart?
I mean there is not option to add to cart on my products.
There should not have been any problem installing as I have a server with a special installation option just for Zen cart etc.
Any clues?

What is the setting in your Admin> Configuration> My Store> Store Mode?

Probably an Admin setting, check on these:

• Admin > Configuration > My Store > Store Mode
• Admin > Configuration > Customer Details> Customer Shop Status - View Shop and Prices
• Admin > Configuration > Customer Details> Customer Approval Status - Authorization Pending
• Admin > Configuration > Product Listing > Display Product Add to Cart Button (0=off; 1=on)

It appears some of those settings are set as 0 or 3
I cant change then at the moment as I renamed the admin congig files and admin file and now it is playing up

"newnamewenthere" and "NEWNAMEWENTHERE" are not part of the core of Zen Cart.

It sounds like you've made some errors in coding somewhere while customizing your site, or didn't start from a true fresh set of files. You can obtain the official Zen Cart fileset via the "Download" link at the top of this page, or the "Sourceforge" icon link at the bottom of this page.

sorry "new name went here" was where I replaced ADMIN & admin
I am having trouble now I changed it though. I cant see anywhere i missed swapping the text over?

It has been a long night. 6am and no bed yet.

I tried to up the security by changing the admin instances in the config folder and file name and no go.
So I changed it all back and now I am unable to get into zen cart.

I am pretty sure the installation was ok but I dont know what to do.
Do the file permissions make any difference. I configs set to 644 although they seem to have a mind of their own

When renaming the admin folder for security purposes, you ONLY edit the /admin/includes/configure.php file , and rename the admin folder.
Don't edit any other files for this purpose.
Sounds like you touched files you shouldn't have. In such case, re-uploading originals should suffice.

I got a couple of hours sleep and then discovered i had set the permissions too tight on the main folder

I had altered the cart/admin/includes/configure.php file
The admin floder

AND the cart/admin/configuration.php

Dont do both?
