saving new shipping/billing address as default..

hi there,

i'm not sure where this question should go exactly, but:

1. i've turn off most fields from being required upon registration, or set some fields up as hidden values during registration (ie. telephone # = 0000000000)

2. the problem is that when the user goes to check out, this fake info is still in the default address that's printed:

123 Whatever St.
, NY
00000000000

3. i've figure out some strange session['sendto'] and session['billto'] hacks that redirect the user to the shipping/billing address edit screen if a. theres' only 1 address for the user (ie they havent added a shipping/billing one yet) and b. the default address city = '' (this is a loose description of my hack)

4. this works to get around displaying the fake address upon the first checkout for the user, but not after that.

ideally, i'd like to save the first total real address (shipping i suppose) as the user's new default address when he/she enters it (not just to session['sendto'].. can i do this?

even more ideally, i'd either write over the old address slot, or delete it..

has anyone done anything like this?

nevermind, I'm almost there. for anyone else inclined to do such a thing, the place to do your delete and new address as default switching is in

modules/checkout_new_address.php
