Update ALL Products Price Sorter Quit Working

Yesterday I did a Update ALL Products Price Sorter and it worked fine.

A while later I added the PHP Backup to my version 1.3.6.
That did seem to work well. There was not a backup option in the admin menu.

Anyway a little later I tried to Update ALL Products Price Sorter again and no go. It just sits there until the browser finally says 'can't load page'.

I'm wondering if the PHP Back utility made some changes that affected me being able to Update ALL Products Price Sorter?

Any Ideas?

If you load an old backup AFTER running the Update Product Price Sorter ... then you have not really run the Update on the current data as the data has now changed ...

You need to run the Update Product Price Sorter AFTER you have your database loaded with the current data ...

NOTE: if you do not have master_categories_id set on your products ... the Update Products Price Sorter cannot update correctly ...

NOTE: if you have Linked Products ... the first product in the products_to_categories table will be used when you run the Update Master Categories ID ...

NOTE: Update Master Categories ID ... should it need to be run, must run BEFORE the Update Products Price Sorter ...

Same thing however ... if you perform an update on a database, and then replace it with a backup ... whatever update you just did no longer is there ...

Run the UPDATE on the database AFTER you have the right database of data in place ...

Apparently I wasn't clear in my first post as to what I did.

After doing the first Update All Products' Attribute Sort Orders, I DID NOT do a Backup. I only installed the "Backup My SQL" utility downloaded from the contribution section and looked at what new options showed up on the admin menu. I didn't execute any of the Backup My SQL functions as the only new menu item was 'Restore'.

Now when I try to Update All Products' Attribute Sort Orders it does not work, just times out to the browser 'cant find page' error.

Is that more clear? Did the "Backup My SQL" utility change something that is making the Update Attributes Sort Order not work?

Can you check how many products and products_attributes you have setup?

Well, I have done 2 things.
1. I moved to a new faster hosting company.
2. I loaded the version I had without the 'Database Backup' Utility.
Seems to be working now.

The Update All Products' Attribute Sort Orders has worked since doing these 2 things.

I'm still not sure if the Database backup utility caused the issue or not.

I do have some products with 10-12 attributes. Some of the attributes have over 5 choices in a couple dropdowns on one item. That's when my current host slowed to a crawl and that page took 8-15 seconds to load. I spent all day yesterday moving to a new host that specializes in zencart type MySQL sites.
Now my page load fast. If interested, the server company is siteground.com
Their trouble ticket response is within about 10 minues or less.
They even have a utility that will load Zen 1.3.6 for you.
