Website slow with Shopping Cart sidebox

Especially if I have more than 5 items in my cart. Is this a problem with MySQL with my hosting provider? I see that the database Zencart created does have indexes, so I don't think it's that. I don't know much about dB's at all, so any help is appreciated.

I don't want to turn off the shopping cart sidebox since I have the free shipping qualifier installed. I wouldn't mind moving that feature to the shopping cart page, but no one responded to my earlier post...

Yes it appears that as items are added to the cart that the DB querries increase.

Parse Time: 1.330 - Number of Queries: 1151 - Query Time: 0.722909409775

While this is higher than normal it is not over the top and I question if your host is configured to optimize mysql for DB intensive applications

For comparison one of my sites:

Parse Time: 0.745 - Number of Queries: 1987 - Query Time: 0.433753003326

Your site is not consistant in any way ...

I add 1 product and can go from .8 to 2.6 seconds when I click All Products ...

That is not very typical especially on a site without much in the way of a database of Products ...

Is this v1.3.6?

Clean install or an upgrade? If an upgrade, from what version to what version?

Check with your hosting site about being on an over loaded server or one that is throttling your site ...

It's 1.3.6, fresh install. FWIW, I'm on (gasp) GoDaddy (yes, I have read previous complaints about them here, but I didn't know at the time). I'll shoot an email regarding optimizing MySQL. Thx!
