    Default Unknown Shipping method used in customer checkout

    Ok I searched through the forums a bit to make sure I wasn't posting an issue someone else had, couldn't find any other info so I'll post here. Currently I have two shipping methods setup, UPS module with 4 options and a complex table rate based on order total. The customer only has the choice between one of the UPS methods and the table rate. Free Shipping method is disabled. Somehow a customer ordered one item today and the shipping method showed up as simply U in the invoice, basically the line in the invoice looked like this:

    Sub-Total: $5.00
    u: $0.00
    Total: $5.00

    Usually the shipping method is listed where 'u' is and the correct amount to the right. I have no idea what could have caused this, I've been running ZC since 10/05 with no problems like that. I checked to make sure the item was setup as an item that requires a shipping address and does not get free shipping. The version on this install is 1.2.5. Yes, I know it's old but please don't throw rocks at me, I've had no wierd problems with this release, unlike some of the more recent versions, and it works fine for me so I have no intentions of upgrading it at this time.
    Any ideas as to what may have caused this shipping glitch would be appreciated, please don't respond with simply "You need to upgrade" unless you know for sure an upgrade addresses this specific bug, I've worked in desktop support for far too long to accept cop-out answers like "you need an upgrade" or "restart your computer" or "unplug it and plug it back in". Thanks for any ideas guys! I'm not terribly concerned about this problem as it hasn't happened but once in over a year so I don't anticipate it happening often, just frustrating not to know.

    Was there ever a resolve to this. I just had the same problem 2 day in a row.

    There really isn't a "same" problem two years later that there isn't something of detail you could perhaps offer ...

    Could you answer the questions that appear when you hit Reply?

    Could you then say what Shipping Modules are installed?

    If you have Shipping Modules installed that are not used, please hit REMOVE on them so that they are not just "disabled" ...

    Can you reproduce the problem?

    Could you post the order in detail, so we can try to reproduce this?

    Have you an URL to your site where we could perhaps try to break things?

    I have the following shipping modules installed and running. I have several of the other zencart shipping modules installed but not in use. I have not been able to reproduce the event.

    FedEx Ground
    FedEx Express
    USPS
    UPS

    REMOVE all shipping modules that are installed but not in use ...

    Check that the Sort Orders are unique, if you are using Sort Orders ...

    Check the Security Patches at:
    http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=131115

    for Security Patches as well as updates for the USPS shipping module ...

    Also, if you turn off the SEO/rewrites does this correct the problem?
