Can't Edit Product Not In A Category

The guy (now dead) that set up my Zen Cart installation somehow ended up with several products that are not in any Category, but still show up on the website products list. But I can't seem to get to them to edit or delete them in the Admin area.

I do have the same products in the correct category, so when you search for the product by name or number, they both show up.

Any ideas?

Generally a product that is not in a category actually has a master_categories_id of 0 or is linked to that category.

So couple of things, likely easier to address through having one or more links to the site, but if the products_id is the same on the catalog side for these two "product" then there is a different solution than if both have a different products_id. Further, if the product when viewed within the category is linked, it should be possible to see that fact and then to adjust the category links...

Further it could be that there is this "special" category or other designation that has been setup to display these product as if they have no category...

Offer whatever info you have available to see what next to suggest. :)

Thanks for the response.

If I search for BK23 on the website, both products are displayed, and either one can be ordered.

But if I'm in the Admin section and search for BK23, only the 79.95 one shows up and can be modified.

The path to that one, shown on the website,

shows a products_id of 1699.

But the other one, the one I can't modify or delete, shows this,

with a products_id of 1356.

I have several more products like this that I would just like to delete.

As far as I can tell, the products are not linked in any way, nor is there a 'special' category that I'm aware of.

You've identified product IDs.
In the Admin, if you click on any product to edit, you'll see that the &products_id=XXXX is in the browser's address bar.
Edit that to one of those problematic IDs, and press Enter to open its page.
Set the Master Category ID, and Save.
Now you can do further edits, or even delete from the category listing screen.

Took me a minute to figure out that I also had to change the path as well as the products_id, but that got me to the hidden one and I was able to turn it off.
