Listing products of particular category

Hi!
In the homepage, there are "New products for MonthName", Featured Products and Specials .. .. listed.

What I want is to display products of the particular category.
Lets say that there is a category named "Mobile". Now below "New products" or in the centerColumn of index page, I want to display the products in the following way.

Has anyone done this before? If yes, then can you please show me the direction.
