Ok, I've found the template that I would like to use and edit..... but now I'm confused because of this "My Custom Template" folder and all that it contains. Can I copy the contents of the template that I downloaded (Blue Strip) to the My Custom Template folder so that i can then edit it? or will I be losing other info that has already been edited?

I guess what my main question is... what all is effected by the "My Custom Template" folder that I was instructed to create?

ok, that wasn't even right ... now I'm confusing myself even more....

    I now have
    testshop01/includes/templates/ :

    Folder 1. ) bluestrip_reloaded
    Folder 2. ) classic
    Folder 3. ) my_template
    Folder 4. ) template_default

I was instructed somewhere to select my_template and call it My Custom Template. Ok, can I just choose the bluestrip now instead?

The folder and files on your Zen Cart install on the host should look similar to the following if testshop01 is where the full set of files is located:

    I now have
    testshop01/includes/templates/bluestrip_reloaded
    testshop01/includes/templates/classic
    testshop01/includes/templates/my_template
    testshop01/includes/templates/template_default

Each one has to have a template_info.php file with the unique template name inserted

yes, that is what I have...as I stated above, I just didn't add the the entire paths because i didn't think it was neccessary for my question, which still is .... can I copy the bluestrip files into my my_template folder ? I want to use the basics that template, but edit a few things to customize it to look more like my auction templates.

Just go to admin > tools > template selection > edit > select blue strip from the drop down and then update.

Blue strip is now your template and edit the files under it

No requirement to copy this to a your_template folder
