Free Download with Pre-Order

I'm kind of new to ZC so forgive me if this is a rookie question. I have a product (CD to be specific) that will be available next month. I would like to have it be available for Pre-Orders and then provide anyone who buys it with a link to a low quality download version of it so they can start listening now. I want the download to be tied exclusively to the pre-order product and not be an additional item in the store (as this will go away once the CD is released). Is this possible? If so, can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Sure -- simply add the low-res download as an attribute to the product. That way anyone buying the product will get the download.

Then when the CD starts shipping and you no longer wish to offer the download, simply remove the attribute from the product ... and new orders will not get the download.

oops... just noticed that when I have this set up it does not calculate any shipping because it thinks it is only a downloadable item. Any ideas on how to get the shipping for the regular item to work?
