Group Member Catalogs/Categories

Hi all,

I have searched and found similar solutions, but nothing seems to apply to this situation.

I will have several customer groups (wholesale, industrial, etc.).

Each group needs its own catalog of products. For example, groupA should be allowed to view and purchase all categories/products from categoryA, while groupB from categoryB, etc.

Users must login to see the prices of their respected group as well.

There will also be a main consumer catalog that should be available to all the public.

Does anyone have any ideas on this one? I could setup hidden categories, but I'm not sure how to limit them to be visible/accessible by only group members.

I have written code for sites like this in the past ...

And while it is rather complex, it can be done ...

However, you are doing a lot of customization to the code to manage what products can be seen by whom ...

You more or less need to have a few new fields to manage the customers and products and categories so that the right customers can see the right products and categories ...

While it is complex to write this it is possible ...
