    Default [NOT A BUG] Firefox SSL security warning

    I have found an issue with the following security warning from firefox whenever a form is submitted from sideboxes or the header over an https connection:
    [FONT=Verdana]
    "Although this page is encrypted, the information you have entered is to be sent over an unencrypted connection and could easily be read by a third party."

    This has been tried on many ZC sites using different versions of ZC.

    The forum discussion is here

    A solution is listed here

    This is not a bug ...

    Forms when submitted from secure to non-secure throw messages ...

    These forms could be:

    1 hidden when on secure pages

    2 set to go to a secure page when submitted

    This can be managed in either manner depending on what you want the site to do ...

    Another method is to make the boxes switch to a link vs a submit and the link takes you to the non-secure and the form then resumes regular display so you do not get the message ...

    So we are supposed to remove the Search function on all https pages and take away the ability of a customer to do a search for that other thing that they want to buy.

    that dosnt make any sense, rather than hide or remove this form why not make it dynamic using base href

    That is what I am saying ... this can be changed and you will end up with remaining on a secure page vs switching to a non-secure page until you hit a regular link ...

    Hmmm... what happened here? This has been taken completely out of context. The issue is easy to fix, it just doesn't seem to be with a default ZC install... take a look at how many production ZC sites have this issue (I've only checked a few but they all threw a warning).

    I did not mean remove the search functions or anything else from https pages, I was just suggesting that it may be a good idea for ZC be set so it doesn't throw the warning message in Firefox by default... Sorry to cause any confusion.

    This would be a whole lot easier if we did not have 2 threads running on this ...
