I've just gone into cpanel and uploaded the database that I'd deleted by accident. It brought up a page of gobbledegook (I recognised it from my site though) but when I go to icklebits.co.uk it still says database probs.

Get in contact with your hosting service and see if they have a backup they can restore for you.
Did you manage to do the backups Misty suggested?

I'm so confused. I can't get any help from my host...they're not replying to my emails.
Probably sick of me too!
Calm down. We'll get you through this.
Do you have 1.3.7 installed in its own directory on your domain?
Misty said she was sending you a PM. In the upper right hand corner of the forum, you'll see Welcome, icklebits. Below that is a link to your private messages.

I don't know how I did it but I have a website back!
I uploaded the sql database that I'd backed up.
When this didn't make a difference I looked on cpanel and realised there was no users assigned to it.
I assigned every user on the list because I don't have a clue which it needed to be....and now the site is back up with its mainenance message.
Have checked my admin and its all back!
pm sent.. reply received.. have offered to take a look at sql file saved, if sent to me via email...

Trial and error works. Thank god it was suggested to back up that sql thing. THANK YOU
Now all I need to know is how to do a complete back up so it goes on my computer and then I can copy it on to a CD.
I've decided not to upgrade my version of zencart. Not worth the tears...and I've wasted a perfectly good ham salad down the toilet!
I want to give you lot a big THANK YOU. I can't tell you enough how grateful I am.
(This post may have crossed because I just took a phonecall.)
So how do I do a full back up onto my harddrive?
(I can envisage you all running in the opposite direction screaming "leave us alone!" )
Pleased to hear you have your site back...
backup your site as follows.....
Log into domain control panel
click backups then click
Download a MySQL Database Backup
then click
Download a home directory Backup
Save those files to your computer..if necessary
also burn them onto a cd...
Taking a full backup to your computer is fine,
but only webhosts can restore for you.. home
backup outlined above.. you can restore
homebackup yourself.
THANK YOU. THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Do you know what? I think this forum is a great idea and its a great bunch of users that use it!
