help with categories

Hi there,

I have looked for reference regarding this but cannot seem to find the info anywhere.

What i want to do is always display my sub catergories, is this possible

if you look at my site

if you click on the first category you will see there are quite a few sub categories, i need these showing all the time.

i need to sub catergories showing all the time on the left hand category panel, not with the pictures etc in the centre

Perhaps this is what you are looking for in the Configuration ... Product Listing ...

Show SubCategories on Main Page while navigating
Show Sub-Categories on Main Page while navigating through Categories

0= off
1= on

thanks but that just switches the categories in the middle of the page on and off and not down the left hand side of the page. Does anybody have any ideas as i am really stuck now, i have looked everywhere so its either not possible or i am blind

There are settings in the Configuration ... Layout Settings ... for things that you can do with the Categories Sidebox such as:

Categories - Always Open to Show SubCategories
Always Show Categories and SubCategories
0= off, just show Top Categories
1= on, Always show Categories and SubCategories when selected

this allows me to only show sub catergories when selected, i have looked through all this section to see if you can have sub cats on all the time but cant find anything, it must be possible, has anybody else got any ideas as this is really bugging me.

Are you trying to make all Categories in the Categories sidebox show all of their Subcategories at the same time?

If so, then you need a new cat box ...

Somewhere ... hiding in the Downloads ... peek at the link at the top of your screen ... there are additional types of displays for the Categories Sidebox ...

There is one that does what you are asking for ... but, alas ... I forget what or where it is ...

Perhaps someone using the Categories sidebox with the fully expanded subcategories could post an URL so that you can see it as well as which add-on they used to produce it ...

yes thats what i need, the sub categories showing all the time, thanks number 8, does anybody know where this is to add the new category box

i forgot to ask,

is there a function in here to add a link page where other website owners can add their link to my site, or do i have to create my own??
