#navColumnOne ISSUE

I have set #navColumnOne to

#navColumnOne {
background-color: #000000;
}

sot that you can see what I am talking about. How do I get rid of the black boxes that are on my left column? I would like the Categories box to be even with the Home bread crumb.

I would have used 0em there but it left a 1px alignment problem.
