Default Fedex module problems

I just installed the Fedex module for express and ground, but when I go to test it on my catalog, I get this error:

Fatal error: Unknown function: curl_init() in /home/u1/rfong82/racetekengineering.com/html/zencart/includes/modules/shipping/fedexexpress.php on line 293

I have cURL activated on my server. I also have the cURL path and proxy set to NONE. Any tips on getting this resolved? Thanks in advance!

This tells me that there is NO cURL on this server

I just called my host. They checked and stated that my gd and cURL is active, and that it is not being run on a proxy server, that it is run on their shared server. I'm emailing the error message to their UNIX tech now for further review...

Alternatively, put this in a phpinfo.php script and call it

<?php
phpinfo();
?>

Let us know what is the curl section in the phpinfo display page

I emailed my host about the issue, and this is the reply that I got:

Dear Raymond Fong,

I want to inform you that we received the reply from our adminsitrator who explained that if you were trying to access some host - the firewall blocks it. Please provide the host, port and the reason and the access will be considered.

I wish you all the best!

Any ideas? I'm still pretty new to all this, so be easy with the technical stuff please.

Oh geez, that's not what I was hoping to hear. I still have a few month's worth of prepaid hosting....

Is there anyway I can get this working? Can someone give me something specific that I can request from my host? The PHP inquiry should have a section that outline the cURL parameters right? I think I remember seeing this before when I was checking out OSCommerce. Now when I check the PHP info, there's no cURL section. I really need to talk to someone competent from my host...geez...

Could this problem be caused by the fact that my host uses PHP as CGI? Oh, and in case I didn't mention it before, my hose it Aplus.net. Please help!
