Why can't it access the CSS files?

We've just installed the lastest version and it is not reading the CSS files, the test domain is:
http://domain1265618.sites.fasthosts.com/

When trying to access the CSS file from a browser we get a 500 Internal Server error:
http://domain1265618.sites.fasthosts...stylesheet.css

Any ideas !

It's working now.

Removed .htaccess from directory.

Removing the file is a bandaid. You should work with your hosting company to see how to ensure that the protections offered by the supplied .htaccess file are implemented in another manner that is compatible with the way they've configured your server. Otherwise folks can access all the files on your site without restriction. This isn't wise.
Only your host knows how they've configured things, and only they can truly answer how to incorporate the recommended protections into their setup.

Thank you for your response I ask our support and the reply was:

We only allow the below functions to work with our .htaccess files all others are disabled and will create the error.

URLSecurity
modification of FrontPage
mod_rewrite
301 redirects

Only your host knows how they've configured things, and only they can truly answer how to incorporate the recommended protections into their setup.

With out knowing the server configuration and the steps taken for security it is difficult for one to make any sound suggestions

Copy the contents that are in the Zen Cart htaccess file for the host to view and ask them which of them you can use and for the ones that you cannot ask them either what they are doing or alternatives that you can do to provide this protection
