I think i needed more coffee in my system... thanks for the help.

Now my question is: is there an *easy* way anyone knows of to have the image linked from the order confirmation email and / or customer order history page, and /or admin order page ?

I require the same solution: that the image name in the order link directly to the image. Has anyone been able to solve this?

You would need to code the orders.php to add the link ...

Usually the problem is manipulating the file from the link based on file size and FTP is easier for managing it ...

This can be done, but would take a bit of work ...

As many browsers treat different file types in various ways the link would make it more trouble some ...

What is it that you are hoping to accomplish by having a link to an upload file by the customer?

Thank you for your prompt reply to my first post here Linda. As the products are custom printed items I hope to achieve a solution whereby customers upload images with their orders (I've achieved this) and the admin when reviewing the order can simply click the link to download the image from the server.

I accept that FTP is the fine for slightly more tech minded admin staff but I was hoping for something a little more usable.

Could one of the editors perhaps bridge the gap and remove the need for accessing the directory via FTP?

    Many thanks for your time.

The caution here is again to ensure that the download happens correctly ...

When you look in the /images/uploads directory you will notice that the files are numbers ...

The numbers are unique, and any match to the orders_id is coincidence, btw ...

If you make the link to the file, the download will also be labeled by a number ...

If you are not a coder ... and don't play one on TV ... you may wish to locate one to do this custom work for you ...

NOTE: there are no overrides for the Admin so you will want to save your original file(s) and custom file(s) made for this for future upgrades ...

    Default No file uploaded

Hi, i can't seem to upload a image at all.

I've looked in /images/uploads but there is nothing in there. I checked in /images but they are not there either. I have set images and images/uploads permissions to 777 for both.

Do the files get uploaded when the product is added to the cart or when the order is confirmed? Are there settings in admin i need to look at?

    I'm using zen 1.3.1

I don't recall all of the bugs since v1.3.1 ... you could be living one ...

Have you tried to upgrade your site to see if this doesn't correct itself? The current version is Zen Cart v1.3.7 and there are so many things for security, bugfixes, additional features etc.

Note: you will want to add the current patch at:
