products name not long enough

we need more than 64 characters for product name.
Can I just change the Length/Valuse from 64 to 80?
table : products_description field : products_name

any side effect that I need to know ???

You can change the data table field size. You could end up with sidebox issues. One thing that worked for us was the following. (German translations of our products can get very long! But we limit to less characters to force shorter names.

.sideBoxContent {

		overflow:hidden;

		width:170px;

	}

What this does is limit the amount of text in the sidebox to 170px. Anything more (characters) beyond the specified width doesn't display. Works with Firefox and IE6/7 browsers.

I changed the field size to 95, everything just fine.
side box and tell a friend both work well.

Maybe the problem is fixed in V1.3.7 ??

Ok, I search over and I found products_name in the following 3 tables

products_description, customers_wishlist, orders_products

should I change all of them to the same size ?
