How exactly would i receive payments?

that will depend on the payment module that you have turned on,

check/money order
paypal
manual scan CC
gateway CC

well how do i get the other persons money into my bank account?

do you want to take Checks and money orders
do you want to take paypal
or do you want to take credit cartds,


check and MO are kinda no brainers,
paypal you will either leave the funds in your pp account and use the Debi Card or set paypal to scrub funds to your account daily

for credit cards this is going to depend on if you want to manually collect the numbers and run them through a Virtual terminal or a swipe machine.
Or if you want to use a real time gateway.

Both of these are going to require a merchant account
