Removing the words "Please Choose:"

I am setting up text attributes for an item so that when the customer chooses to purchase this item, he must fill in a text field.

Whan I add this text attribute to the item, the words "Please Choose:" show up on the Item page just above the text field.

How do I have the text field attribute, but not the extra unwanted text that says "Please Choose:"?

You have to edit the product_info.php file in your includes/languages/english directory. I did this by copying the file to my includes/languages/english/custom directory and removing the words "Please Choose:" there. I hope this helps.

Just remember that when you change a constant definition to be blank, you need to leave the '' (two single quotes).

Thanks to you both for this! I've been wondering how to remove the "Please Choose:". When you said you copied the product_info.php file to your custom directory, does that mean you have to tell Zen Cart to look in that directory for the instruction? Or is that just a place where you keep a copy of the original code, unchanged?

You copy the files you want to change into your custom template directories, and edit there. Leave the originals in /template_default/ unchanged. Do not copy any files that you are not changing - it's a waste of time and energy.

As long as your changed files are in the proper override directories, Zen Cart will know to look for them instead of the originals.
