I upgraded a store from 1.3.6 to 1.3.7, which seemed to complete OK. I decided at that point that I would discontinue the use of a third-party template which was complicating things, so did not bother applying any changes to the files of that template.
To tidy things up completely, I wanted to start with a fresh install of 1.3.7, in a subdirectory of the same name as the original.
I backed up the database, renamed the subdirectory of the original shop, recreated the original subdirectory (/shop) and used it for a fresh copy of 1.3.7 - so far, so good.
I edited /includes/configure.php and /admin/includes/configure.php restoring the paths and settings that had been used in the original shop, when it had occupied a subdirectory of the same name.
I imported the mysql database into that of the new installation, from the backup taken from the previous shop. This looked good - all my previous shop settings seemed to import OK, along with all the product details.
I am now using the Classic template.
I used an ftp client to download and re-upload the image files from the /images subdirectory of the old shop, to the new, in order to restore all the product images.
This is where things have gone awry. According to my ftp client, all the product image files are in the right place, but they do not display in the shop. Nor do they display if the path to the image is typed into the browser address bar. None that is, except the last four products to be installed in the shop - this inconsistency I find more confusing than anything else :-(
In the shop configuration, display product images is set to '1' - I assume that means on?
I'd be grateful for any pointers as to how to get the images working.
Thanks in anticipation.
