    Default image delay?

    Check out http://www.terryjanis.com/store/inde...products_id=34.

Customers are reporting a 3-4 second delay between clicking the image and when the large image actually pops up. What could be causing this delay? What can I do to fix it?

Overall your site is slow. On the larger images the filesize is too big- you need to oprimize- the december wall hanging is 112.53 KB (115231 bytes). It should be no more than 30k.
Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

Many reasons possible but what you can control are the file size of the "large Image" - how large are these?

You can optimize these and make them a uniform physical size like 500x400px and then reduce the size of the file to match as a monitor only displays web content at 72dpi.

Quick Lassie run get help ... Timmy fell into the well!!

Really slow site on first hit ... probably your hosting site does not have your server configured to handle gethostbyaddress efficiently ...

Next, turn on GZip as your site is testing that this is off:
    http://www.whatsmyip.org/mod_gzip_test/

NOTE: use a full URL to a product to test GZip

Then, speak to your hosting site to see if you can be moved to a less overloaded server or a better optimized server for speed in php and MySQL ...

Then, those images ... very pretty ... but they are monsters!!
