shared DIR_WS_IMAGES

Hello,

I really need your knowledge here:
I am about to set up a second shop for my Wholesale customers on the same windows server I am using so far.
The domain will be different.
It will be same content & images as the first shop I am running.

As I have a very large index of more than 40.000 products so far, I really need a solution to set up the wholesale configure.php to "share" the images folder from my first shop

Otherwise I have to have the same images folder twice, which contains 35.000 small & 35.000 _MED images.

Do you have a recommendation how I can set the wholesales shop includes/configure.php > DIR_WS_IMAGES, to point on my first domain images folder?

Any idea is appriciated

Would it make sense to set up a path Alias in Apache?
And to define ('DIR_WS_IMAGES', '/images/') ?
I need a kick here...
