Google Checkout and Downloads

How do I allow people using Google Checkout to get the download link for an item? I am still in testing mode for my site (using the Sandbox server from Google). I am not sure if that would make a difference. I can go through the built in Zen Cart checkout (for check/money order) and the customer will receive the download. However, when I order it through Google, I cannot find a way of getting to the link. Even from the admin page, it does not show the "download legend" for the corresponding order, even though it is the same product.

Is there something simple I am overlooking?

Downloads will not be available until an order is completed. To complete the order your customer has to return to the Zen Cart Checkout Success page and the google checkout doesn't seem to do that.

Well in that case, is there anyway to manually get around this issue? For example, can I just send out an encoded link to their email address once I process their payment?
