Warning Messages Won't Vamoose

I assume it's something wrong I'm doing and not with Zencart itself. I've installed the newest version of Zencart (not upgraded, just installed), have gone into Properties and changed the CMOD to 644 (mostly because it keeps defaulting back to 644 when I try to change it to 444 - dunno what's going on there), and I'm still getting that blaring red warning message letting me know that it needs to be done.

Any particular reason why it won't leave me in peace? I've changed the configure file located in includes without any success.

Are you trying to do the CHMOD via ftp, or through a HTTP control panel?

Sometimes, servers are set up to disallow CHMOD via FTP.

I was going through an FTP program. Going through the cpanel worked.
