Inventory only in one Category is it possible

I want to setup a Inventory control on one category called Clearence items... I need to do this because we are limited on the amount of items that we can sell for this very low prices how can i go about doing this can anyone help

I am not sure how else to explain this doesn't someone have some questions to ask????

We just got our new Clearance Catalogue so i am sort of trying to get this up and running ASAP Please Help

enable the default inventory system to indicate sold out when gone if other items than the clearance items are not desired to show this enter a quantity of say 10000 then you only have to edit infrequently the stock levels

Yes but that will now be another thing to maintain isn't there a way to make it just for a Category or setup up a new Product type for something like this

OK so make it 999,999,999 and then how often do you have to maintain it? The cart can be set to notify you at a low stock level and how many of these will drop at the same time??

This is an Open Source offering and as such the code can be altered to what ever you might want, and what you want I do not believe is a module that is available and a bit more involved to be solved through a few posts in a forum. If this item is paramount to your needs you might post in the commercial help wanted forum here.
