Can't put items on sale

I seem to be having a problem putting items on sale or as featured products. Should be straight forward, I know, but when I go to specials I don't see any products that I can put on sale. The same appears when I try to setup featured products.

This is a new install, installed as 1.3.0.2, then upgraded up to 1.3.7. My store is setup as type 2, showcase with prices. I've tried changing that to normal store, but didn't make a difference either.

Hey max, im having the exact same problem here, my version is 1.27.

I've been trying to solve this all day, If i find the solution, i'll be sure to let you know, if you could kindly do the same :)

Check that all of your products have master_categories_id in the products table ...

Then check that you can see the products in the Catalog ... Categories/Products ...

Then, edit a product and make sure that a Master Category is set ...

How did you do the upgrade? Did you run the /zc_install completely for all checked boxes?

Hi Linda,

Looking at the products table in the DB, the products do have a master category set.

The product also shows correctly in ZenCart admin.

I ran all the upgrade scripts in zc_install to bring the install up to the current version.

Any other suggestions that I could try out or check?

How many products do you have?

How many of these products are in the specials table in the database already?

How are you setting up your Sale Maker Sale?

How many products are in the featured table in the database already?

That's just it, I can't add products in Catalog/Specials or Catalog/Featured Products. The screen comes up with a blank selection for the product field.

I currently only have 27 products total while I'm sorting through this issue.

I haven't setup Sale Maker Sales as I'm looking for setting up specials and featured products on a per product basis. I have also tried with setting up a sale in sale maker but that did not make a difference into me being able to add products into specials or featured products.

Hiya, to answer the same set of questions for my very similar situation.

All of my products have master_categories_id in the products table ...

I can see the products in the Catalog ... Categories/Products ...

After editing a product the Master Category is set ...

I havent ran the upgrade yet but this all seemed to work not too long ago.
One addition i should throw in here, I used to have specials, quit a few in fact, but after deciding to change them, i removed them all. I dont know if I could or couldnt add new specials immediately before or after the deletion. However i only deleted them last week.

I have 186 products, 0 in the specials table, and 0 in the featured table. Before now i hadnt even looked at the Sale Maker parts, the sale maker seems to be working fine but doesnt make any difference to the Specials/featured products.

any ideas would be much appreciated

What are the products_type for your Products in the products table?

all of my products seem to be using Product_Type = 1
