Duplicate zone shipping module??

Can anyone tell me how I can duplicate the zones shipping module to accommodate shipping to identical zones in two different ways? For example, air mail and surface mail options to overseas countries? There's a previous thread here somewhere related to this, but it doesn't make it clear which files to edit (or maybe I'm just too new at this to understand it without spoonfed instructions). Any help would be appreciated!

Actually I ended up not using it, but using the table-shipping function instead because I realized that the air mail rates are practically the same for me for every destination I have and so it really wasn't necessary to have an extra zones option.... sorry....
