Linpoint and American Express

Well, I've been successfully processing Visa and Mastercard for over six months now and suddenly Amex wants me to use them with no other fees except a 3% charge for each transaction.

so after about three of these sales calls I agree.

Then it supposedly gets setup and is tested.

I see a test transaction processed by linkpoint through my point-of-sale on the linkpoint site. I try to explain to amex and linkpoint that I don't use the point-of-sale, that I use zen cart but neither of them understand this.

So how do I test this. It doesn't seem to work at all. I had a customer try it and it didn't work. I used the test numbers and it doesnt work.

you need to turn AMEX on in your zen cart under admin-> configuration -> credit cards,

and make sure that the amex merchant account number is attached to your linkpoint account,

and you do know that that 3% is on top of what linkpoint charges

amex charges me a flat $5 a month then cSI takes their percentage

well.. the offer i received (probably the same as mafiasam) is that they waive the monthly fees and charge only 3%. I was called from a CS representative about it.. not from Amex.. so I'm not really sure what the percentages are in total. I had an AMEX TXN processed the other day so i guess ill just wait and find out once that is posted to MMO :)

Yeah basically CardServices was offering this. I'm aware of the normal fees for processing through them but I was told all other fees were waived for American Express as samad mentioned above.

I guess I'll have to give Cardservices a call tomorrow.

Amex charges $5.00 a month till your sales get over x amount in a year then it becomes a percentage,
