Have you considered setting up zones for each county instead? That way you can tax by county and one other sub-division such as zip or city for those zips that span multiple counties.

Just another way to tackle the issue.

Hello,

Yes, last night it finally clicked how your Mod and ZC's tied together with the Zone mappings. If I understand ZC's sales tax feature properly, when you apply a Priority of 1 to a tax rate, that tax would get "added" to the Local Sales Tax Mod, which I used City names for, for the increase in tax rates ? So, would the County tax and the City tax show up as two line items or one, combined ?

I am getting ready to work on my shipping features next, I just wanted to get the taxation out of the way.

"I thought" that I had taken your advice properly and had set everything up accordingly.. I guess I am not clicking right on something ?? I have the zones set up as individual counties and one tax rate associated to each zone, as the tax rate for that county. Then I used your Local Sales Tax mod, to add additional taxation to specific cities that have a higher tax rate than the base rate of the counties themselves. So far what I am getting is 'ALL' counties are taxing at once ? Thinking that it may have been the priority feature, I reset each county to it's own priority, but still, all counties are taxing ?? A $20.00 sale is costing $50.00 in taxes.. customers will not like that one if I go live with it ? Any clues where I am failing to see the issue ?

I received the "Failed" message when I tried to install this mod. I noticed that i do not have the `local_tax_class_id` in myPHPadmin table. So I added it and still have nothing? Do you know what could be causing this or how to get it to work?

It sounds like something went wrong with the table creation.
Try copying the sql text from the file and pasting it into the text box rather than uploading the file.

Hello everyone!
I just wanted to pass along the news that the new version of the mod 2.2 is now available in the downloads.
The download includes both a full install version and upgrade files for version 2.0a and up.

Version 2.2 Updates--
1. Allow for both single zip codes and zip code ranges mixed into a single record. This update should allow for zip code entries like: 53528;53711-to-53720;53524;54302-54310 Which mixes both the ranges and the single entries in one comma delimited list.

2. Updated admin to allow for larger data entries (Thanks to sublime19 for this!!)

3. Changed local_datamatch field to text to allow for more data.
