Can you please illustrate one working example of a host with two web roots anywhere? I have never heard of a set up like that. I am not talking about the symbolic link "www" either.

What control panel platform generates that? We use the four major ones and none of those do what is described ...

The "ssl" directory normally sits below the web root and is home to the RSA key with a private folder within that for the certificate signing request (CSR) and certificate.
Nobody (well, that is a broad statement) would put the SSL folder in public view.

    As above

When I bought the hosting the ssl folder was already there
    So it's like:
    /sites/domain.com/ssl/
    /sites/domain.com/public_html/
and I'm not sure about the control panel, but obviously it's not using cpanel, it has "sloki" brand on it

Normally the system administrator will point your httpsdocs folder to your httpdocs folder in Plesk; if requested.. Thus alleviating the need for dual content.

You cannot make the change yourself as a user.

One of the vagaries of Plesk.
