product larger image help

Hi all,

I've been reading some threads about setting up larger images for products, so when users click on larger they see... well a larger image. I uploaded a larger image to includes/images/larger/mySubCategory and edited the jscript_main.php file to open a larger window for the image. So I figured when I clicked on the larger image link I'd see the bigger image, but nada. Have I missed something?

First unedit the file or replace with original....

This is automatic in Zen Cart when you follow the built in schema and no cart files are required to be changed.

to insure that this will work - start with one product and create 3 images normal medium and large default woud be 80x100, 120x150, and the large can be 480x640

name these as

image.jpg = normal
image_MED.jpg = medium
image_LRG.jpg = large

In the product entry from the admin upload the normal image to "main" which is /images
then FTP the medium and large to /images/medium and images/large respectively

then in the catalog side navigate to this product and you will see the different sizes and the large image when clicked automatically

If the folder is actually named "larger" instead of "large", then that could be a problem...

I'll try your suggestion kobra, thanks. Does it matter if I omit medium??

I think the directory was called larger, but could have been large, I didn't add it or edit it so it's whatever it was originally.

If I want to use subfolders, to keep things organised, can I do so like this:

I have a category confectionary, so upload larger confectionary images to images/large/confectionary or is it images/confectionary/large.

Great, I have larger images. It wouldn't work for subfolders however, do I need to edit something for it to look in subfolders?

Hello All,
Would someone please take a look using new IE ( use my sig ) follow a product image to its largest view and get a pop up drop down menu with it. Possibilities?
Just did some batch resizes and renames to fill med and lrg dirs resized norm and overwrote originals with same name. Yes I backed up first. >
