You mean having one zen cart server contact different databases? Or just have the zen cart database on a system different from the zen cart server? If the later you should just be able to change the define('DB_SERVER', 'localhost'); in includes/configure.php and admin/includes/configure.php to the MYSQL sever.. if it is the former you are looking for not sure about that....

i guess, i wasnt very clear, so let me try to explain again.
i have a website with cpanel and zen cart installed, lets call it website A. it is fuctional and works perfect.
I would like to use zen cart database from website A and plug it into website B. Sites have different domains, but the same hosting provider, SITEGROUND. they've been trying to help me, but so far no luck.
do you guys know what files I need to update?
any help is appreciated!
thanks
i'm going through all this headache so i can use different meta tag keywords and drive different traffic to pretty much the same web site.
good idea or no?
I'm not sure about this. Accessing the same DB from differnet Zen systems, you may have issues with users stock, etc.... Someone knowing more about the internals will need to step in...

If the two websites are on the same server with the same ip address then it may work. If they are on separate servers with different ip addresses then there is the issue of remote access of a database on one server from a domain on another. That isn't allowed in most cases. Only your hosting company can give you those permissions.
In any case the reason you are doing this is flawed. Search Engines such as Google mark you down heavily, or even blacklist you completely, for duplicate site content on different domains. Best to drop the idea.
