bug No Validation of Quantity Field

During a recent stress test of my site (running v. 1.3.7), it was found that if you didn't put a valid entry (like putting a letter in the box instead of a number) in a product quantity field, it would have some less-than-desirable results.

From a product page without a product already in the cart, it would just go to the cart page and say "Your Shopping Cart is empty."

From a product page with a product in the cart, it would just take you to the cart.

If you update a quantity in the shopping cart with an invalid entry (like a letter instead of a number), it would remove the item from the cart.

It may seem like a minor annoyance, but it would be a good thing to be fixed.

Define "fixed" that works for everyone ...

How about it telling you "Please enter a number" or something like that, rather than just kind of erroring out.

It would require quite a bit of coding for that ...

Not saying that it could not be done, but to test what something is and whether that is valid etc.

Such as 0 can be used to delete on the shopping_cart ... a rather handy feature for the customer ...

But then characters evaluate to 0 so they too can be used to delete ... not necessarily always an appealing feature ...

We will keep this in mind and debate what and where things can be managed without causing more work for the customer ...

As in 5 products in the shopping_cart and on 2 of those the customer hits r instead of 4 and 3 on a product that was 1 and 0 on a product that was 12 ...

    Thanks for the suggestion ...
