IE compatibility mode problems

Hi,

I've spent 2 days trying to solve this problem without luck so I was hoping that some of the experts here could take a look at this.

The problem is that there in IE 8 and in Firefox is a white bar at the top of the site. In IE 8 compatibility mode there are no problems. I would like to either simply just remove the white bar or make it look like IE 8 compatibility mode.

Not sure what's happening, but when I remove the border-top from mainWrapper, the white goes away, and the same area is the color of your body background. Might be a place to start.

Thanks that removed the white the color! ...any idea how I get rid of the space at the top?? Could this be in tpl_header.php instead of stylesheet.css?

Ok I was finally able to solve this. The problem was in tpl_header.php. Small corrections in the layout fixed the problem.
