v 1.3.7 with no patches
A new customer signed up and placed an order. I have their account info, which shows name, address, etc. from registration. I received a Paypal (IPN) payment from them, but there is no order showing that is associated with their account. When I go to the Paypal IPN page, there's a transaction with the customers name on it. The transaction type says "cleared-address" and the order # is 0, but it should have been # 1776. When I click on the transaction for more information, I get an error that says: "Error: Order does not exist." What happened to their order information? I checked the db orders table and don't see anything. I have not received an email from them yet (it's been 5 hours since they placed the order), so I assume from their end it appears that everything worked out OK. I'm confused. Is there any way to retrieve that lost order information? Thanks in advance!
Possible culprits?:
- I have the v 1.3.7 installed without any patches
- My Paypal account was set to "ask" before accepting payment from non-confirmed addresses.
- I did not have an automatic return URL set in my Paypal account
- I did not have Instant Payment Notification Preferences URL set up either
- In version 1.3.6 my Paypal acct. IPN URL settings were not set up and orders processed ok
