Attributes - Separate Product

Hey Everyone,

I'm just wondering if you can attach a separate product ID to an attribute.

For instance, I just want a checkbox next to the product that says (Add A Remote - $45)

I know how to add the price attribute to fake it, but the remote has an ID already in the system, and I would like to use it for tracking sales and for invoicing.

I thought this was possible, but am going crazy trying to find an answer...

Any ideas?

See if the cross-sale mod might assist you to some extent alternatively a kludge on the stock-by-attributes especially if this remote is specific to this product and not for other items

Thanks for the heads up, Cobra. Your advice on many posts in this forum has been invaluable...

For this, I actually have Cross-Sell installed and love to use it on all my sites.

But, What I want more is to allow them to add the attribute as if it were a product without having to leave that page.

And have it show up in the shopping cart. (since the attribute is actually a product in the accessories category)

As far as Stock By Attributes. I don't think it would do exactly what I needed, since the idea is that it is a separate product. (companies can order just the remote if they wanted)

If anyone is familiar... there is an osCommerce module called Master Products that will do exactly what i'm referring to.

Master products and Slave products...

I would love this option as well. I have many similar items and would love to put a picture of all of them on one page and let them choose which one they would like (which color, for example) and have that color be it's own specific item number.
