red flag Virtual Terminal Payments posted in Zen Cart

    Hi guys:

I have been a lurker since April 2006. So much help here no need to post!

How can I add an order that failed (usually debit card payments) when I manually enter it in Paypal Virtual Terminal?

The customer may already have an account, but for one reason or another the credit card transaction shows as failed on my site, but their card is "charged" and approved by the bank. The money shows back up in their accounts within a few hours and we NEVER see it or get it. Their bank just puts a hold on their cards! I would like to put a halt to that immediately, so I need the collective brain power of you Zenners.

Also, the card usually has a successful transaction when entered manually through VT, so I need to show the order in Zen Cart or manually place the order through Zen Cart . That way it becomes easy to manage the order. I am losing over $4,000 a week because of this problem!

    Thanks.

What version of Zen Cart are you using?

My actual version is 1.3.7. That is the most recent I think. It is nearly impossible to keep track of VT payments and customers cannot see the process of their orders. It looks as if the order never happened, but they had been charged.

Are you trying to more or less add orders from the back end after the fact that would be identical to what the order would of been from the regular checkout yet maintain the credit card information etc.?

There are several ways to approach this ...

One method would be the Master Password add-on and make a separate checkout payment module that only you can trigger which would simulate this order process that you did manually to maintain a record of it for the customer ...

It does sound like quite a bit of custom coding will be required here ... but it can be done ...

Have you got your coder hat on?

Thank you so much for responding Ajeh! Hubby is the programmer. He doesn't like touching other people's code. I don't now what that's about!

I use master password to place an order for them if they are nervous going through the checkout online. But I should be able to set an order up and label it PAID at least. Then I can use VT to my heart's content. VT accepts debit cards without a hitch but Payments Pro does not. I don't care WHAT they say.

I had so much headache with Linkpoint that I shudder to use them again.

Using the Master Password to create the order should work ...

You can also get tricky on the coding and make a payment module that shows just for your IP address ... similar to how the Down for Maintance allows you to see the shop but no one else ...

These can then processes like a normal order and you would have a record for the customer ...

Takes some custom coding, but it can be done ...
