Once you do that, you can switch between PHP4 and PHP5 without problems.
    Thanks for tip.
I will try that as soon as I have the time and post results here.

I assume that you are still in the Zen Cart installer when you "click" on the Admin.
Otherwise, you access the Admin by adding /admin to your site's URL.
Try going to the store and doing that.
If not, reinstall Zen Cart, you don't have anyting there yet, so pay attention to all the prompts and say NO when it asks you about SSL.

I'm get this message when I click on the phpMyAdmin 2.11.0

#1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)

I can not find the line described in step 20 of the how to setup wamp5. I think I've down loaded wamp 5 1.7.5

    daver1510,

If you downloaded the PHP4 module and are running it, switch back to PHP5. You need to set your password on the MYSQL server with the OLD_PASSWORD function so it works in PHP4. See the following link for more info on this:
    http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/...d-hashing.html

Otherwise, it looks like you set a password for your MYSQL root, and you are not providing it when connecting with phpMyAdmin. Keep in mind that phpMyAdmin doesn't have any passwords...it's just asking for a valid MYSQL login.

Hello everyone, I received an email that there is a new and improved Wamp5. They are getting rid of the Wamp5 and naming it Wamp Server 2.0. I guess there are several improvements stated below and that it is a total rewrite of Wamp5.

Quote: WampServer 2 is a total rewrite of WAMP5.
Its main new feature is the possibility to install and use all the available versions of PHP, Apache and MySQL with just one click.
With WampServer 2, you will now be able to reproduce your production environment on your personnal computer.

So now im gusing that using this server as a 'Test Server" for your Zencart development would be better....

    Here is a link!

    Have fun!
    Chad

So far I have been working without any problems on XAMPP.
However, I decided to try WAMP 2.0 on a different machine, I have always liked the interface better.
So, copied over the site and DB, and after some tweaks to both configure.php, got the local site up.
But...I am unable to get to the Admin side, in spite of repeated checks and comparisons with configure.php files.
XAMPP has a built-in SSL, but I don't know if WAMP has one or if it should be enabled.
Anybody can shed some light on this issue?

Yes, it is possible to install SSL on WAMP, but it is damn complicated.
Honestly, XAMPP is much easier, just add an exception to Firefox.
Anyway, the English forum moderator has posted a guide here:
